Stripe Payment Issue from Nepal – "Address Required" for INR Transactions

Hello Niotron Team and Community,

I’m from Nepal, and I tried to purchase a Niotron package using my Visa card issued by a Nepali bank.

However, when I tried to pay through Stripe in INR, I received this error message:

“As per Indian regulations, export transactions require a customer name and address.”

:pushpin: The Problem:

  • On the Stripe checkout page, it only asked for my name, but not my address.
  • According to RBI (Reserve Bank of India) rules, if a customer is located outside of India, and tries to pay in INR, Stripe requires both the name and address.
  • Since the checkout form didn’t ask for my address, the payment couldn’t be processed.

:white_check_mark: My Suggestion:

Please consider updating the Stripe checkout form to include the address field for users outside of India (like Nepal, Bhutan, etc.).

This small change will allow Nepali users like me to complete the payment easily and buy Niotron packages using our local cards.

I hope you take this issue into consideration. Many Nepali developers are using Niotron, and fixing this will make it much easier for us to support your platform.

Thank you!

PayPal should also be included.

Did you change your Country during checkout?

I tried using both Nepal and India as the country, but I still got the same error. I think if there was an option to enter the address where the card details are added, it might have worked. That’s just my opinion.

I’ll take a look, if i remember correctly, we pass the address you enter to stripe.

“I don’t have much technical knowledge, but based on my experience, I think the address entered at the card details step is the one that gets sent to Stripe. The name and address entered in the first step are probably just saved in Niotron. I feel that Niotron’s payment page should work more like Kodular’s.”

We use our own payment page, I will take a look into it.

We support more local payments, so we need to use a custom page than just stripe provided page.
