Hey everyone,
We’re excited to announce that the Niotron IDE has been upgraded to a brand new version!
This update brings a much more powerful, modern, and developer-friendly experience for building Niotron extensions. The new IDE is designed to make development faster, easier, and smarter while keeping the features you already use and love. We’ve upgraded our underlying infrastructure as well to support more new exciting features which will extend into the App Builder and much more things to come.
What’s New?
LSP Support
The new IDE now supports Language Server Protocol, which means users can get live error suggestions, smarter code assistance, and better feedback while writing extensions.
This should make it much easier to spot issues, fix errors, and improve your code directly inside the IDE.
The LSP supports your libraries both external and the one’s included in a Standard App Builder.
New Library Manager
We’ve added a brand new Library Manager.
You can now search for libraries, install them with a few clicks, and automatically include their required dependencies. This makes working with external libraries much easier than before.
Built-in AI Agent
The new IDE also includes a built-in AI coding agent.
The agent can help users build, debug, and improve extensions using simple prompts. It is designed to make extension development easier, especially when you need help fixing errors, understanding code, or making changes quickly.
Existing Free Features Remain Free
We want to be very clear about this:
Nothing from the old IDE has become paid.
All the free features that were available in the old IDE are still free in the new IDE.
New Plus and Pro Plans
We are introducing two new paid plans:
Plus — $5
Includes LSP support and the AI coding agent.
You also get $5 in AI usage credits.
Pro — $10
Includes LSP support and the AI coding agent.
You also get $10 in AI usage credits.
The reason these features are part of paid plans is simple: LSP and AI agent features cost money to run. The amount you pay is provided back as usage credits for these features.
Project Migration
We have automatically migrated users’ projects from the old IDE to the new IDE.
All working projects should have been migrated and should continue working properly.
If you are missing any projects, it may be because the project contained corrupted Java files or similar issues that prevented migration. If you notice missing projects or any migration-related problems, please create a topic in the community so we can look into it.
Login Note for Existing Users
Some existing users may need to reset their password before they can log in to the new IDE.
If you are unable to log in, please try resetting your password first.
Early Access Notice
This new IDE is currently in early access.
That means there are still features we are improving, bugs we are polishing, and areas where the experience can get even better. We are actively listening to feedback and recommendations from the community.
Your feedback will help us shape the future of the Niotron IDE.
