In my app I have places 2 gif files but when I build my Apk those gif converted in image file.
Even in companion mode they are not rotating.

In year 2022 we still unable to show gif, how funny.

May be as a workaround you can split the .gif in 3 or 4 (or as many images the gif are composted) .jpeg images and change the image source at each 50ms or something like this.
You are wrong… it always has been possible …
